I wore your shirt last night to sleep in desperate attempt to find that familiar smell.
But it was long gone along with suds, water & time.
Then I found that ring which you used to soak in coke,
but it was long gone from its quondam glory - tarnished, rusted.
Yet, I can't remember what it used to feel like - the definite jaws, the steady hands, the ready chest, the marshmallow lips, the moles on your skin.
Alas, my heart was long gone - gone into the deep lands of melancholy hill.
What am I thinking, for a love that was long gone.
Tragic, what a tragic.
